Who's Kaptain Sunshine?
Kaptain Sunshine started as a clothing label within a Japanese fabric mill with designer Shinsuke Kojima at the helm. His garments look familiar but, at the same time, don’t.
A piece may look like a vintage American military, hunting, sports, or leisure clothing. But the pockets may be asymmetrical. The shoulders drape low. The detailing is meticulous and refined.
The fabrics of each piece also have a familiar appearance, which is soon undermined when upon closer inspection. What looks like linen feels surprisingly smooth and cool, like this Field Shirt Jacket.
So, you dig around and discover that the outer warp yarns of the jacket are made from airy rugged linen, and the inner weft yarns are made from cool soft silk.
